Our Team — Two Generations, One Standard

The Schreiber family has guided Kaiserlich Wien since its founding. Today, Maximilian and Katharina work in concert — the diplomat and the artist, united by one standard.

Leadership

The Schreibers

MS

Maximilian Schreiber

Chairman Born Vienna, 1949

Maximilian Schreiber served as a protocol officer at the United Nations Office at Vienna (UNOV) from 1976 to 1991 — fifteen years coordinating diplomatic transport, motorcades, and logistical protocols for visiting heads of state, foreign ministers, and senior UN officials.

His career spanned some of the most consequential diplomatic moments of the late Cold War period. He understood, better than most, that the journey between airport and conference hall was not a mere logistical detail — it was the first and last impression of an entire state's hospitality.

In 1991, he founded Kaiserlich Wien with a single vehicle and an address book that encompassed Vienna's entire diplomatic community. He remains Chairman today, overseeing the standard he created.

"Every client who steps into one of our cars carries something precious — their time, their privacy, their trust. We never take that lightly."

KS

Katharina Schreiber

Managing Director Joined 2022

Katharina Schreiber trained as a concert pianist at the Vienna Conservatory before moving into arts administration. She served for several years as Event Director at the Gesellschaft der Musikfreunde — the Musikverein — where she was responsible for the production and coordination of some of the world's most prestigious classical music events.

She joined Kaiserlich Wien in 2022 as Managing Director, bringing with her a Viennese cultural sensibility that has become central to the company's identity. Under her direction, the company's cultural programme — Opera Ball transport, Musikverein partnerships, Salzburg Festival transfers — has been substantially expanded.

Katharina also leads the company's grand hotel partnerships and oversees the chauffeur training programme, ensuring that the standard of every journey reflects the standard of the venues it serves.

"I grew up listening to my father speak of his clients the way a musician speaks of a concert — every detail matters, every moment is unrepeatable."

Behind the Wheel

Our Chauffeurs

Every Kaiserlich Wien chauffeur is selected through a rigorous process that reflects our origins in the diplomatic service. We require a minimum of five years' professional chauffeuring experience, a clean record, and the kind of personal presentation that Vienna's most discerning guests have every right to expect.

Our chauffeurs are background-checked, multilingual, and trained in the discreet conduct protocols developed during our years serving Vienna's diplomatic community. They understand that silence can be a service, and that the most important thing a chauffeur can do is make the journey feel entirely effortless.

Languages available across our team include English, German, French, and Russian — ensuring that every international visitor feels immediately at ease from the moment they step off the aircraft.
